Physiotherapists can assess injuries and dysfunctions, help diagnose problems and assist clients in understanding their condition.

A physiotherapist can help people recover from injury by tailoring a specific treatment  to the individual. This can aim to reduce pain and stiffness, improve mobility and strength and prevent further injury to improve quality of life. Physiotherapists can liaise with and/or refer to doctors, surgeons and other specialists or health professionals and can refer directly for imaging scans as required.

Treatments that a physiotherapist may provide include: Prescription of exercise programs to improve mobility and strengthen muscles, balance and motor control. Massage and joint mobilisation to reduce pain and stiffness. Taping or bracing.
